I finally got the engine stand i needed to be able to get some work done on the spare motor. so far i now have:

oil pans removed
bearing caps removed (pain in the a** too)
pistons out
block completely stripped
and now it's at the shop waiting to get honed and cleaned.

i also determined that the 165k mile bearings should be replaced, and found a set of ACL race series bearings for the motor. the cost for a full set runs around $90. a set of OEM main bearings runs around $75. do the math, better bearings for just slightly more? or OEM expensive bearings?

This site haz it now!! (just noticed that as of this write there are 4 guests on, instead of the 1 that was me)

in other news, last tuesday. my oil filter decided that it was done being my filter, and decided to pop off while i was getting on the freeway.

so here i am in 2nd gear at 5.5k rpm, and i look over and my oil pressure drops like a rock to zero! the only thing i can think at that point was "well f***. that's not good." i got the engine shutoff quick enough, and everything is fine now. i thought i had some minor rod knock, but it turned out to be a noisy injector (they were all on there way out measured at 10 ohms, instead of 12 like they should be). so now i got 333cc injectors. all is well with the car!

So as the website, slowly crawls it's way back from the dead. you may see stuff appear, and disappear. this will be normal for the next week or two.

But i do have a new addition to the site: "How-To's" i'll be posting any how-to's that i write up. most of mine are on G20.net. but i'll be coping them over here so that there will be content actually worth looking at rather than my ever constant rambling and venting like it was before :p

later...
